One-Track Mind: Improve Concentration To Increase Your Power

What does one-track mind mean? Well, according to the leading experts in the field of endless, self-defeating or pointless pursuit, it means the focus on one goal, ambition, objective, or desire, to the exclusion of all else. It is an obsession with one thing. If your goal is to increase your power and improve the way you live, it is imperative that you learn how to improve your concentration for it is the person who centers his/her attention on one thing and one thing only that gets whatever he/she desires.

If you ask, “Is there any truth in this?” Well, the answer to that is, hell flippin yes! I’ve spent almost nine years of my life observing such kinds of people and I’m sure that some of you have done this even longer. What I have noticed after trying to understand the nature of the workplace is that the ones who usually climb the corporate ladder with astonishing speed display common characteristics. Their concentration and ability to keep their minds on their jobs, while setting everything else aside, gives them the power to increase their worth as employees. Single-mindedness is an essential skill not just in the world of spiritual practitioners, but in the corporate and business enterprise as well.

The Commandments on Improving Concentration

1. Thou shalt not let thy mind wander from goal to goal.

mind of confusion

Concentrate on a single goal and push at it until it yields. You must give yourself over completely to your desire and think of nothing else. When one gets it into one’s head to do something, and when one exclusively occupies oneself in that design, one must succeed whatever the difficulties and one will be able to increase in power.

2. Thou shalt allow thy mind to concentrate thy thoughts into a single unit of power.

concentrate your thoughts

The concentration of your thoughts is a key to power. Resist the dangers of diffusion and of infiltration by outside forces such as family, peers, friends, and even enemies. Keep in track and do not be distracted by other people’s suggestions.

3. Thou shalt resist the patterns of dispersion of one’s generation.

be ahead of your time

The best strategy is always to be ahead of your time. While everyone is on the same track and following the same trends, stay one step ahead. Don’t wait for opportunities to come. Create your own opportunities.

4. Thou shalt fix thyself to a single, appropriate source of power.

find a source of power

In the world of power, you will constantly need help from other people, usually those more powerful than you. Only a fool flits from one person to another, believing that he will survive by spreading himself out. Keep in mind that concentration of energy and more power is attained by affixing yourself to one appropriate source of power. The single patron will appreciate your loyalty and will become dependent on your services. In the long run, your master will become your slave.

5. Thou shalt hold a monopoly of information.

monopolize information

Single-mindedness of purpose, total concentration on the goal, and the use of information against people less focused and in a state of distraction is the key to power. Always keep track of what is happening in your surrounding environment and do not allow vital information to be revealed to others. Program your mind to be on the look out for predators as you search for your prey.

6. Thou shalt remember that power always exists in concentrated forms.

he who holds the strings has power

In any organization, it is inevitable for a small group to hold the strings. And often, it is not those with the fancy titles. In the game of power, only the fool flails about without fixing his target. One must find out who controls the operations or who is the real director behind the scenes. If one attaches oneself to that person, one will be catapulted to higher ranks and all the way to the top.

7. Thou shalt concentrate hitting, not two birds, but ONE bird with ONE stone.

mind and stone must become one

If your thoughts stray, you miss the opportunities that will come your way and the innovative ideas that will enter your head. Mind and stone must become one. Only with such concentration of mental and physical power can your stone hit the target.

8. Thou shalt remember that concentration of thy mind on one field of specialty is power in and of itself.

It is the misfortune of men with wide general interests that while they would like to have their finger in every pie, they have one in none.

Question: Would you like to have a one track mind? What do you do to improve your concentration aside from sitting on the crapper for two solid hours?
