Fear No Evil! Conquer Your Demons!

Thoughts become things. You’ve probably heard this phrase before and know why it became so popular. If not, then I won’t tell you because it’s a 'secret'. However, do you agree that the things you think about, like fear, are as real as you are? If you’ll ask me, I’d say, “hell yeah!”

Fact is, each day is like a battle for me because I’m always fighting. I’m fighting little infectious creatures inside my head which other people oftentimes call demons. These demons are as real as anything can be because they affect my actions. Therefore, one certainly needs to guard his greatest ally, the mind, from thoughts that create fear all the time and I think you’ll agree with me on that.

To protect myself from my mental enemies, I carry weapons with me all the time - weapons that kill negative thoughts but create peace of mind. I want to share them with you so that you have something to use when you fight your own demons. To conquer fear, just remember these simple reminders.

  • The components of anxiety, stress, fear, and anger do not exist independently of you in the world. It’s all in your mind.
  • The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.
  • Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.
  • If you look into your own heart, and you find nothing wrong there, then there is nothing to worry about.
  • The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  • Ignorance leads to fear. Knowledge leads to power.
  • Men are moved by two levers only: fear and self interest.
  • Fear of death increases in exact proportion to increase in wealth.
  • The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one.
  • Fear is the foundation of most governments.

  • Depend on no one. The moment you reject all help will you be free of fear.
  • Dislike evil, feel tranquil, listen to good teachings, and you will be free of fear.
  • Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain.
  • He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life.
  • If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.
  • Things done well and with a care, exempt themselves from fear.
  • There is a time to take counsel of your fears, and there is a time to never listen to any fear.
  • In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
  • Know what not to fear and you will have courage.
  • It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.

Remember, your greatest enemy is not what you fear. It is fear itself. You don’t have to go out of your mind when things go wrong or out of control. Life may be like fighting a war, but if you nurture courage, you will be able to conquer all your fears.

Ryhen,
Enjoyed the post, I resonated with many of your bullet points. I think fear is also a frequency, which one should concsiously rise above.

Hi Ryhen, another great hit you have here. Yup as the lentil line from my favorite shirt brand implies:"No Fear- Face your fears, live your dreams"

I agree with you Ryhen action is surely a great restore. It doesn’t matter how small… if you just keep thinking about it and not taking action…thinking will just each you away.

This one's different and the lines give me an uplifting buzz, I hope it lasts though hehe :]

We all have our own inner demons and I think it's how you overcome them that make you who you are. I once worked with this lady who was paranoid with just about everything. She was always thinking people talked behind her back, had no trust in people, was afraid of germs, you name it, she had it. She told me one day that she knew she had many fears in life and that she was powerless to overcome her. I wish you had published this post a year ago so I can print it out and give it to her.

Warm and positive greetings Ryhen,
A most excellent posting. A posting which I very much relate too.
I make concerted effort to counteract the 'chatter' from my 'inner critic'.
The critic that believes the negative 'hype' created by others and created by me.
My philosophy is that it better to live my life with a sense of realistic positive anticipation rather than negative speculation.
I am grateful for what I have. Indeed, I am grateful for your posting. Thank you.
With peace and respect, Gary.

Fear is only an illusion of the mind. If we keep on living life with the control of our minds, we will never conquer our self. :-)

Fear is nothing to be afraid of-it's just a thought in one's head. Once you realize this you can invite all your demons to come live in your house.

Hi Ryhen - Great points and a great reminder that fear is only a state of mind. It is interesting to note that the opposite of Love is not hate, but fear. When we learn to radiate love, to feel Oneness with All-That-Is, there is no fear, because everything else is just another aspect of ourselves. To neutralize thoughts of fear, one simply needs to replace them with thoughts of another level of frequency. Great post! :-)

Hi Ryhen, that's a well written post. Just wanted to Add in something - "Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live."

A very thought provoking article Ryhen. A spiritually advanced soul once told me to guard my consciousness because thoughts do become reality. He also said that we create our own demons and that if we give credance to them they can become very real.

I did it you guys! I did it! I flew to TN for a wonderful training session. I cried and almost had a stroke and heart attack getting there.I had 2 plane rides. Honestly, I had chest pains and sharp pains in my left arm. I could not eat for 3 days.
Yesterday after prayer and meditation I gave myself a good talking to. I stood in the mirror and talked. Flying back home was not as bad. Again, 2 plane rides back, this time I sat next to 2 angels who talked to me constantly until we reached Denver! Yea, I was so happy to be home! I WON'T Fly again NO MATTER WHAT!

I have lived and still living all above. Having Bipolar/Dementia is my biggest demons. One day I think I'm fine and maybe the next day the demon will invade my mine. The only think I can do is fight and try and stay in control. Unfortunately, I have to use medications to help the battle. I like your blog and will come back and read it again.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
